Services will be held Thursday for Paul E. Carter, 79, of 1424 Commerce St., Wellsville, who died at 6:45 p.m., Monday at City Hospital where he had been a patient since Oct. 25 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Carter was born Dec. 22, 1899, in Amherst County, Va., a son of the late James and Polly Davis Carter.
He retired in 1964 from the Globe Brick Co. where he had been employed as a kiln tender.
He was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church of Wellsville.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Mandy T. Carter, June 17, 1973, and his son, John A. Carter, June 25, 1979.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Smith of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and miss Irene Carter of Va.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. from the New Jerusalem Baptist Chruch with the Rev. Jesse Green officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call a the MacLean Funeral Home Wednesday after 4 p.m. and at the church Thursday after 10 a.m.
