George A. Griffin
Died Nov. 19, 2003

EAST LIVERPOOL – George A. Griffin, 78, of Woodbine Avenue, died at 2:48 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lawrenceville Feb. 23, 1925, son of the late Frank E. and Lillian Knott Griffin, he was a lifelong resident.
Retiring in 1990 from New Castle Refractories after 44 years of service, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Potters and Allied Workers.
His wife, Marie L. Aikens Griffin, whom he married April 15, 1949, survives at home.
Two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Janet) Dorow of Charlotte, N.C. , and Mrs. Michael (Teresa) Beadnell of East Liverpool, survive along with two sons, Edward L Griffin and his wife, Esther, of Tucson, Ariz., and Richard A. Griffin and his wife, Sandra, of East Liverpool.
A daughter-in-law, Nancy Griffin of New Waterford, also survives along with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A son, Daniel Griffin, died July 18, 2000. A grandson, Jonathan Griffin; a sister, Kay Delsignor; and three brothers, Rev. Vernon Griffin, Gilbert Griffin and Gordon Griffin, also preceded him in death.
Rev. Basil Adkins of the Church of God House of Prayer will conduct services at 6 tonight at the Dawson Funeral Home Chapel, where friends may call two hours before the service.
Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
