ROGERS – Billy L. Heiland, 72, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at North Side Hospital in Youngstown following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Sligo, Mo., a son of the late Andrew J. And Gladys Stottler Heiland.
He was employed at the Insul Co. and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a member of Rogers Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie J. Davis Heiland; sons, David E. Heiland of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Dennis L. Heiland of New Waterford and Deral S. Heiland of Xenia, Ohio; brothers, Andrew G. Heiland and Francis E. Heiland of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Peggy Counts of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Paul Wright will conduct the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. The combined units of the American Legion Post 31 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579 will accord military rites
Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
