John Taggart
Died April 8, 2004
SALEM – John E. Taggart, 95, formerly of Wellsville, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Salem after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wellsville on Dec. 5, 1908, a son of the late John E. and Emma Vantilburg Taggart.
He at one time worked as a meter reader for Wellsville.
He is survived by his wife, Edith H. Glover Taggart; two sons, John Taggart of Texas and Jon Wayne Taggart of Satsuma, Fla.; three daughters, Shelby Smith of Toronto, Joyce Taggart of Wellsville and Judy Taggart of New Philadelphia, Ohio; one brother, Harold Taggart of Toronto; one sister, Emma Foehrenbach of Indiana, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter.
A memorial service will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, March 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
