ETOWAH, N.C. – Charles Robert Haynes, 80, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.
He was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Cora (Kempf) Haynes. He was employed as a carpenter and was a veteran of World War II, serving n the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elaine (Workman) Haynes, and one son, Jeffery Scott Haynes.
He is survived by four sons, Charles Haynes of Asheville, N.C., Mark Haynes of Jasksonville, Fla., Gary Haynes of Atlanta, Ga., and Gregory Haynes of Weirton; three daughters, Robin Papach of Enon Valley, Pa., Debra Donahue of Etowah, and Shelly Steinman of Weirton; two sisters, Doris Gray of New Cumberland and Jean Truax of Forty Myers, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. R. K. Staub officiating. Burial will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
