Ila Jean Watson, 79, of New Cumberland, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011
She was born April 11, 1932 in Hartford, WV, the daughter of the late William and Margaretta Harris Duncan Sr.
Ila Jean was a member of Nessly Chapel, the treasurer for the United Methodist Women’s Society and also served as Trustee and the Superintendent of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Ila was a 1950 graduate of Wells High School.
Along wither parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Duncan.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Dale Watson, of New Cumberland, who she married January 16, 1953; a daughter, Connie (Bob) Macek of New Cumberland; a granddaughter, Melissa; a great-grandson, Kaiden; two sisters, Marlene Duncan of North Carolina and Karen (Art) Miller of Florida, and a brother, Bob (Pat) Duncan of Newell.
Funeral services were held at Nessly Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Son-in-law Bob Macek will officiate.
Burial will follow at Nessly Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Nessly Chapel or Valley Hospice.
Nixon Funeral Home of Newell was in charge of arrangements.
