Bryon T. Foutts of Gardena, Calif, died Sunday at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 68.

Born in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Byron and Francis Ford Foutts.

He was a World War 1 veteran and a local boxing promoter and has resided in California for the last 10 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Gaughn of Columbiana, and four grandchildren.

Local services are being arranged by the Dawson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Katharine A. Smoot of 903 W. 8th St. died Monday at 6 a.m. at her home following a lengthy illness. She wa 63.

Born in East Liverpool June 24, 1902, daughter of the late George W. Johnson and Sarah Etta Ormes Johnson, she was a member of the Sheridan Ave. AME Church and Order of Eastern Star.

She leaves her husband, Henry M. Smoot, at home; a son, Henry M. Smoot Fr. Of Charleston, W. Va.; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Barnes of Canton, and three grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday.

John Washington Chapter, 68, Order of Eastern Star, will conduct services at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

East Palestine – Rose Bozzo, 99, of West Main Street died at 1:27 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 1997, at Salem Community Hospital where she was a patient for the past 11 days.

She was born in Cozenza, Italy, March 25, 1898, a daughter of the late Fank and Theresa Saporiot Calentino.

Mrs. Bozzo came to East Palesting from Italy as a youth. Whe was employed for 25 years as a decorator with the former W. S. George Pottery and later Robyal China prior to retiring in 1962.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Her husband, Frank Bozzo, died in February 1936. She also was preceded in death by six half-brothers, Frank, Sam, James, and Guy Vocature, and August and Gene Oates; and a grandson, William Warner.

She is survived by a son, John Bozzo of Munroe Falls, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Archibald of East Palestine, Mrs. Mary Warner of Munroe Falls, and Mrs. Mafelda Muscarella of Sharpsbille, Pa.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Daniel Cipar will be celebrant of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial is to be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday, where a vigil service will be held at 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2p.m. at the Stewart-Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland for Mrs. Maggie Caroline Duvall Sheets, 73, wife of Samuel Sheets, who died Saturday at 10 a.m. in her home.

The Rev. Kenneth Fordyce of the Trinity Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at Pughtown.

Wilbur J. Davidson, 622 Jackson St., was found dead in his apartment about 11:30 a.m. Friday. He was 73 and had been in failing health.

Asked to investigate, police headquarters dispatched Patrolman Paul A. Burson Jr. Unable to detect any signs of life, he notified Dr. Roy Costello, deputy county coroner, who authorized removal of the body.

A World War 1 veteran, Mr. Davidson, was born in Kittanning, Pa., May 9, 1892, to the late Robert Davidson and Anna Drabble Davidson.

He lived in Wellsville for many years and was one of the first men to be called for service. He served overseas with the 324th Heavy Field Artillery and was in the Argonne Offensive and the march to the Rhine.

He worked for the former Wellsville Works of the American Sheet and Tin Plate Co. He resided in East Liverpool for 40 years.

He is survived by a son, William J. Davidson, of Butler, Pa.; two brothers, Willard J. Davidson, at home and James R. Davidson, of Wellsville; two sisters; Mrs. Pauline Osborn of Wellsville and Mrs. Anna Marie Hynes of Wellsville R. D. and six grandchildren.

Fr. Gerald X. Curran, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Wellsville, will conduct prayer service Monday at 8 p.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville

Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home by Fr. Curran. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Wellsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday afternoon and night.

EARL A. BLAKE - Obituary

Services for Earl A. Bake, 419 15th St. Wellsville, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Haugh Funeral Home.

The Rev. Clark Allison, pastor of the Wellsville First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.

Mr. Bake died Friday morning at the Greystone Nursing Home in Wellsville. He had been in failing health for some time and several years ago his health worsened after a fall from a ladder at the McKinley Elementary School.

Survivors include a foster son, Donald Lockhart of East Liverpool.

Friends may call this afternoon an d night at the funeral home.

Arrangements are pending at the Arner Funeral Chapel for Timathy Ray Tudor, 6 ½ months, son of Stephen R. and Columbia (Sue) Gallie Tudor of New Cumberland, RD 2, who died at 11 p.m. Friday at Bay Side Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Venessa Tudor, at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tudor of Chester; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Cooper, of Ridgeview, W. Va., and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Columbia Garren of Georgetown, Pa.
