SADIE ANDERSON DEVERS - Obituary

Miss Sadie Anderson Devers

Mrs. Sadie Anderson Devers died at an early hour yesterday morning (Mar. 21, 1906) at the home of her sister, Mrs. Rebecca T. Blockson, Lisbon, after a few days' illness from grip. Mrs. Devers was born in Lisbon 64 years ago and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson, who early residents of Columbiana county. Her father was one of the pioneer superintendents of schools in the town of Lisbon, and Mrs. Devers herself was a teacher.

Early in the sixties she was married to Frederick Devers, of Eat Liverpool, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Devers, of the well known Ohio house in Second street. The marriage was not a happy one and Mr. Devers soon afterward enlisted and went to war. About the close of the war they were divorced, and Mrs. Devers has since made her home at Lisbon. Edward Devers, her only son, died about ten years ago. Mr. Devers married again and is now living in Texas. He has been in this section only once since the close of the war and that was a few years ago when he visited relatives in this city.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Blockson.

VIOLET DIMMICK - Obituary

Mrs. Violet Dimmick, wife of John Dimmick, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon (Mar. 21, 1906) at her home in Greasley street, after several weeks illness of a complication of diseases. The funeral services will probably be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Robert Kell, of St. Stephen's Episcopal church officiating.

Mrs. Dimmick possessed a very amiable disposition and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. The bereaved husband is a member of the East Liverpool Rovers Association football team and is employed as a dipper at the Laughlin plant No. 1. Mrs. Dimmick was about 29 years of age and was a native of England.

CARRIE FERGUSON - Obituary

Mrs. Carrie Ferguson, wife of H. O. Ferguson, of Adolphus street, Chester, died at 11:45 last night (Mar. 21, 1906) of lung trouble after a ten week's illness, aged 25 years. The deceased leaves no children. The time of the funeral will be announced later.

Mrs. Margaret Schaber, aged 73 years, died at her home in Columbiana. She was the wife of Jacob Schaber, and had she lived until next may she would have been married 51 years. She was a member of the Methodist church. Besides her husband she is survived by five children: Mrs. William Haag, Mrs. William Fesler, Mrs. Eli Hisey and Harry, of this city, and Mrs. A. A. Bushong, of Canton.

LUCINDA YOUNG - Obituary

Mrs. Lucinda Young, aged 81, died Wednesday morning (Apr. 11, 1906) at her home in Costonia. She was born in Hancock county, W. Va., and married William Young who died in 1871. The following children survive: Martha J. Shearer, San Jose, Cal.; Andrew E., of Toronto, O.; S. Gilmore, of New Cumberland, W. V.; Dr. J. P., of Empire; Lizzie A. Alban, of Steubenville; W.D.C. and A. Viola, wife of James Blackburn, at home. Funeral services will be conducted at her late home this morning at 10 o'clock, interment taking place at the Toronto cemetery.

GLADYS BLACK - Obituary

The death of Gladys, the four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William black of Gardendale, occurred yesterday morning (April 12, 1906) at 3 o'clock after a short illness. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment taking place in Riverview cemetery.

Margaret Jane Cornell, the six months old child of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cornell, of East End, died at 10 a.m. yesterday Apr. 12, 1906), and the remains will be taken o the steamer Greenland to Portland, Ohio today, for interment.
