MARY THOMPSON
Daily Crisis
June 14, 1893

Mrs. Mary Thompson, wife of Lon
Thompson, the brick layer of Wells-
ville, died on Sunday after lingering
illness, of Typhoid fever. She was the
mother0in-law of John A. Deidrick, for-
merly of this, but now engaged in
the mercantile business in Wellsville.
The other child, Edward Thompson,
was a member of the graduating class
of this year, in the Wellsville high
school. The funeral took place at 3
o'clock this afternoon.

BASCOM SANFORD - Obituary

DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Injuries Sustained by Bascom Sanford, Prove Fatal.
Bascom Sanford, aged 26 years, who was thrown off a box car at Salineville on Friday night died at Mercy hospital, Pittsburg on Saturday night.
Sanford was formerly a brakeman on the New Cumberland branch and for a year past was a brakeman on the C. & P. He was a single man and his parents live at Penrith, W. Va. He is well known in Hancock county and had many friends.
The remains were taken to the home at Penrith and the funeral will take place on Monday afternoon.

AGED CITIZEN DIES
Asa Geer Passes Away at His Home Near Chester.
Asa Geer, the oldest citizen of Hancock county, died at his home about three miles from Chester, near the Washington school house, on Monday night.
Mr. Geer was aged 94 years and was one of the best known men in Hancock county. He had lived at the old homestead for over 50 years. Up until the last few months he was able to work in the fields. He was remarkably well preserved, his intellect clear, vision bright, and up until a year ago had the activity of a man of 50 years of age.
For several years he was the overseer of the poor in Hancock county and in early life took flatboots of produce down the Ohio and traded.
Mr. Geer was highly respected, always a good neighbor and a friend to all.
He leaves a good estate to be divided among his children, E. W. , B., A., Marion, Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. O. A. Lowery
The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the late home. Interment at the Nessley chapel cemetery.
