EAST LIVERPOOL – William G. Howell, 66, of Calcutta Smith Ferry Road, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in East Liverpool City Hospital after a long illness.
He was born March 8, 1924 in Hancock County, W.Va., the son of the late Leo and Elva Brown Howell. He was a lifetime East Liverpool resident.
Mr. Howell was a retired East Liverpool postal clerk with 25 years of service.
He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U. S. Navy.
He was a member of the VFW Post 66, the American Legion Post 374 and the John Covert Chapter of the Disable American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Crymes, whom he married Oct. 14, 1944; two daughters, Pamela Y. Hoppel and Mrs. Richard (Linda) cable, both of Calcutta; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Alma) Dray of Calcutta and Mrs. Shirley Gulutz of East Liverpool; one brother, Jack Howell o East Liverpool; and two grandchildren, Tina Burke and Rick Cable, both of Calcutta.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. William Betteridge of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, Youngstown, officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park, where full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.
Friends may from Wednesday afternoon and evening and from noon until time of services Thursday.

Glenn Shasteen Obituary

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Glenn Shasteen, 69, of Lake Wales, formerly of Salem, died Friday at Lake Wales Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Shasteen has resided in the Lake Wales area fro six years, coming form Lantana, Fla. He was a tool and dye maker at Tru Cut Dye Corp. and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor E.; two daughters, Glenda L. Gano of Franklin, Tenn. And Kay L. Ward of Lake Wales; two sons, John A. of St. Petersburg, and Gary G. of Plant City; three brothers; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with the Rev. Dennis Turner officiating.

DARLINGTON – Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lutton Funeral Home, 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa., for Elizabeth B. Shasteen, 72, of Fifth St., here who died Tuesday at Community Hospital East Unit in Salem.
The Rev. George Gravely of Mt Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Darlington will officiate.
Burial will be at Rocky Springs Cemetery Big Beaver Borough.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mrs. Eleanor Ella Shasteen, 67, of the Nashville Health Care Center, died Wednesday at the center.
She was born in Salem, Ohio, and hd resided in Beloit, Ohio, and Lake Wales, Fla. Mrs. Shasteen was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Salem.
Besides her mother, Mrs. Pricilla M. Lilliard of Ohio, she is survived by two sons, John A. Shasteen and Gary G. Shasteen of Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Glenda L. Gano of Franklin, Tenn., and Mrs. Kay L. Ward of Florida; a brother, Perry Hilliard of Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Kilbreath of Ohio and Mrs. Shirley Roberts of Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held a 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana with the Rev. Charles Reidy officiating.
Burial will be in Frankline Square Cemetery, Franklin Square.
The Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens of Tennessee handled the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
