SALINEVILLE—Justine J. Johnston, 79, of Sycamore Street, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at her home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Salineville, a daughter of the late Wilford and Eunice Graubner Johnston.
She was a factory worker and attended the Presbyterian Church.
Pastor Rodney Ohler conducted a graveside committal service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery.
The Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home was in charge.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Patrick W. Plant, 41, died unexpectedly at home Friday, Nov. 21, 2003
He was born in East Liverpool, a son of Roy and Patty Ann Plant of East Liverpool.
He was a member of the Heritage Christian Church.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Plant; and three daughters, Kristina Plant, Chelsie Plant and Asa Plant.
Pastor Brian Brooks will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55. E. Schrock Road, Westerville. Burial will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gloria Kay Scott Obituary

TORONTO – Gloria Kay Scott, 51, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center-West in Steubenville.
She was born March 30, 1953, in Steubenville, a daughter of George Rice Sr. and the late Frances Megirl Rice.
She was a homemaker.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Roger Scott Sr.; a son, Roger Scott Jr. of Toronto; a daughter, Lisa Scott of Bergholz; four sisters, Diane Bunt of Bloomingdale, Sally Dillon and Laura Ann Dillon of Toronto and Catherine Hood of Weirton; a brother, George Rice Jr. of Weirton; and five grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or services.
The Clarke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alice M. Faloon Obituary

Alice M. Faloon
Died Nov. 8, 2003

WELLSVILLE – Alice M. Faloon, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at City Hospital.
She was born in Wellsville Jan. 4, 1912, a daughter of the late Harry and Cora McMillan Rowley.
Alice graduated from Wellsville High School in 1929 and from Kent State University in 1933. She was a school teacher in the Southern Local School District for 35 years. Alice was a member of the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, Yellow Creek Grange, and was an avid square dancer.
Her husband, Maurice “Scoop” Faloon, whom she married April 24, 1943, died Feb. 12, 1975.
Survivors include one daughter, Darla Green and her husband Butch of Wellsville, with whom she resided; one sister, Millie Osgood of Wellsville; her grandchildren, Crystal Harrison and her husband David of Salem and Donald Green and his wife Cindy of Andover; and her great-grandchildren, Justin, Emily, Adam, Danielle and Gabrielle
She was predeceased by a brother, Dean Rowley.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville with Lester Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bruce Lee Diddle Obituary

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Bruce Lee Diddle, 51, died at home Friday, Nov. 7. 2003, following a battle with cancer.
He was the son of Ray and Ruth Diddle of East Liverpool.
He was associated with the Big Walnut Country Club in Sunbury, Ohio.
Besides his parents, He is survived by his wife, Aretta Diddle; a daughter, Kristina Diddle, at home; a son, Brock Diddle, at home; a sister, Barbara Diddle of Westerville; and a brother Jeff Diddle of East Liverpool.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Devore Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury. Burial will be in Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Jerome N. Cooper Obituary

NEW CUMBERLAND – Services will be held Monday for Jerome N. Cooper, 51, who died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at home.
He was born in Steubenville June 22, 1952, a son of Delores Robinson Cooper of New Cumberland and the late William Richard Cooper.
He was employed as a stove tender in the blast furnace department at Weirton Steel Co. and was a member of Mercy Baptist Church in Weirton.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Wendy R. Pepper Cooper of Weirton; a daughter, Heather Long of New Cumberland; three sons, Jeremy Cooper of New Cumberland, Brennan Gum of Weirton and Jarrett Gum of Tennessee; three sisters, Veronica Blake, Monica Albaugh and Sherry Cassella of New Cumberland.
Pastor James Rhodes will conduct the services at 1 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Julia A. Brooks Obituary

Services will be held Friday afternoon for Mrs. Julia A. Brooks, 85, of Christian Place who was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday at 1 p.m. at City Hospital after becoming ill at home. She had been ailing a year.

Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 1, 1883, in Meigs County, a daughter of the late Alfred E. Petty and Jane Boring Petty. She had resided in this area most of her life.

She retired 20 years ago from the Homer Laughlin China Company.

Her husband, Major E. Brooks, died in 1921.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Evelyn) Palmer, with whom she resided, Mrs. Albert (Esther) Armstrong of Chester and Mrs. Howard (Kathleen) Fisher of East Liverpool: three sons, Dale C. Brooks of East Liverpool and Dana W. Brooks and Major W. Brooks of Glenmoor; two sister, Mrs. Bernice Barnhart of East Liverpool and Miss Chressie Petty of Athens; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Mann of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral Thursday afternoon and night.
