Julia A. Brooks Obituary

Services will be held Friday afternoon for Mrs. Julia A. Brooks, 85, of Christian Place who was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday at 1 p.m. at City Hospital after becoming ill at home. She had been ailing a year.

Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 1, 1883, in Meigs County, a daughter of the late Alfred E. Petty and Jane Boring Petty. She had resided in this area most of her life.

She retired 20 years ago from the Homer Laughlin China Company.

Her husband, Major E. Brooks, died in 1921.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Evelyn) Palmer, with whom she resided, Mrs. Albert (Esther) Armstrong of Chester and Mrs. Howard (Kathleen) Fisher of East Liverpool: three sons, Dale C. Brooks of East Liverpool and Dana W. Brooks and Major W. Brooks of Glenmoor; two sister, Mrs. Bernice Barnhart of East Liverpool and Miss Chressie Petty of Athens; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Mann of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral Thursday afternoon and night.

Died Jan. 30, 2003

Pamela Kaye Robinson, 54, of Patricia Ave., Weirton passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born January 25, 1949 in Steubenville, a daughter of the late Herman C. and Lillian S. Kokochak Lyons. She was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Eugene Lyons.
Pamela retired from the Hancock County School System where she worked as an aide and cook. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Weirton.
Surviving are her husband, David Lee Robinson, Sr., at home; two sons, David Lee Robinson, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Weirton and Robert Douglas Robinson and his wife, Ela of Ambridge, PA; a daughter, Denise Kaye Austin and her husband, Jamie of Weirton; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Sandra) Stanley of New Cumberland; a brother, Daniel L. Lyons of New Cumberland and five grandchildren, Kassi ad Nikki Robinson, Kyle and Emily Robinson and Kayelee Austin.
Services were held on Monday, February 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Patty Beagle officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery in New Manchester. Turley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Andrew Reardon Obituary

Patrick Andrew Reardon, 56, of 317 East Market Street, Mercer, PA passed away Sunday, February 2, 2003 at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 5, 1946 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Edward Patrick and Mary Ellen Keeling Reardon.
Pat was retired as a sales representative for Reynolds Tobacco in Youngstown. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended the Mercer Free Methodist Church. He was a talented athlete during high school and college playing baseball and football.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Pitt St., Mercer with Rev. William M Brest officiating. Interment will take place at the Mercer Citizens Cemetery. Friends may call at he funeral home on Saturday from noon until time of the service.

Dorothy Istnick McCarthy Obituary

EAST PALESTINE – Dorothy Istnick McCarthy, 78, of Grandview Ave., died at 6:28 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Kindred Hospital in Beaver, Pa.
She was born Feb. 21, 1925, in East Palestine, a daughter of the late James and Mersada Sinclair McCready.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emil Istnick.
She is survived by her second husband, James “Red” McCarthy; a daughter, Cathy Donadio of Warren; a son, Rick Istnick of East Palestine; a sister, Roberta Hawkins of Columbiana; and five grandchildren.
Rev. John P. Tully will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Robert URmson Jr. Obituary

ROGERS – W. Robert Urmson Jr. 74, of Carmel-Achor Road, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 3, 1929, in Salem, a son of the late Wilbur R. and Eva Poorman Urmson Sr.
He worked at the former NRM in Columbiana and served with the U. S. Army in Korea. He was a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia A. Sabec Urmson; two sons, Robert M. Urmson of Negley and Rick L. Urmson of Columbiana; a daughter, Sue Holtom of Columbians; a brother, Dr. Ralph Urmson of Leetonia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lillian Lewis Urmson.
Roy Seaux, associate evangelist, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens
Visitation will be at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today and hour before services at the church Saturday.

Jimmy Lee Howard Obituary

EAST LIVERPOOL – Jimmy Lee “Wally” Howard, 46, of Moore Street, died at 11:58 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
Born in East Liverpool, Sept. 1, 1957, son of the late Israel John Howard and Ive Jewell Fraley Howard, he lived most of his life here, where he was a transmission mechanic.
He is survived by a sister, Linda Tyler of Norco, Calif.; and a brother, John Howard.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ESSEX, Ontario Canada – Deloras Mae Bondy, 54, formerly of Lawrenceville, W.VA., died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the Windsor Regional Hospital – Metropolitan Campus, Windsor, Canada, following a lengthy illness.
She was employed as a healthcare worker for Para Med and Comcare services.
She was a daughter of the late Leon Dale Carson and Mildred Carson-Peterson.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bondy; twos sons, Joseph Bondy and Michael Bondy; two step-daughters, Rebecca Rose and Michele Ellis; several brothers and sisters; and sic grandchildren.
The Stewart L. Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge.
Burial was in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
