James Bailey, 57, formerly of 1010 Commerce St., Wellsville, and a World War II veteran, died Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. at the Oakland Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh where he had been a patient for several months.
Mr. Bailey was born in Seattle, wash., Sept 3, 1914, a son of Homer and Vivian Coleman Bailey. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge 772 and the VFW Post, both of Wellsville.
He is survived by two brothers, Arlan Bailey of Wellsville, Alex Bailey of Mingo Junction, five sisters, Mrs. Attilio (Bessie) Carosiello and Mrs. Richard (Sara) Hickman, both of Wellsville, Mrs. Ray (Marie) Dunham of Parkersburg, W. VA., Mrs. Frank (Jeanette) Takatch of Rayland, Ohio, and Mrs. Beatrice Hann of Lisbon, and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. Guy T. Butera of the First United Methodist Church in Wellsville. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Wellsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and night.
