Lillie Ellen Simmons
Mrs. Lillie E. Simmons, 91, formerly of Arner Rd., Newell, died Thursday, at 1 p.m. in Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville, following a brief illness. Mrs. Simmons was born July 15, 1884, in Tyler County, WV. She retired from the Homer Laughlin China Co. in 1960 and had been the oldest member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Her husband, James Hugh Simmons, died May, 1938. Survivors include two sons, Hughie Simmons and Ray R. Simmons, both of Newell; two daughtrers, Mars Rade (Opal) Sadler of Los Angeles and Mrs. Hiram (Garnet) Dunn of Mingo Junction, with whom she resided; a brother, the Rev. Clarence Brewer of Middlebourne, WV; 24 grandchildren, 74 great-grnadchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
