Mrs. Sarah Ellen Brewer, 83, died Sunday at 8 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer Rice, 1014 Avondale St., following a long illness. A native of Pleasant County, WV, Mrs. Brewer came to East Liverpool about 23 years ago from Rush Run. She was a member of the Chester Church of the Nazarene. She leaves another daughter, Mrs. Lillie Simmons of Newell; three sons, Ira Brewer of Long Beach, WV, Clarence Brewer of Wick, WV, and Thomas Brewer of Chester; three brothers, John Birkhimer of Mingo Junction, Alonzo Birkhimer of Salem, and Edward Birkhimer of East Liverpool; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lamp of Sebring and Mrs. Rose Lamp of East Liverpool and 26 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Martin Luther Brewer. Rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home by Rev. O. L. Benedum, district superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, and the Rev. E. W. Martin, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon or night at the funeral home.
