EAST LIVERPOOL – Nancy Brereton Klein, 64, of Wyoming Avenue, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in East Liverpool, June 15, 1941, daughter of the late Charles “Denver” and Vera Coleman Brereton, she was a 1959 graduate of East Liverpool High School and a 1960 graduate of Ohio Valley Business College.
A lifetime resident of East Liverpool she retired from the Columbiana County Sheltered Workshops. She had worked with Bill Booth Little League Football and was a member of the Calcutta Lions Club and the Glenmoor American Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Keith Klein, Sr., and a son Joseph Keith Klein, Jr.
Three daughters, Mrs. Betsy Klein Hull and her husband, Rodney, Mrs. Kathy Klein Vunjak and her husband, Wesley, and Mrs. Jennifer Klein Bielskis and her husband, John; and a son, Daniel B. Klein and his wife, Melissa A., all of East Liverpool, survive.
She is also survived by a close companion, Kenneth Unger of Chester, and three sisters, Nanette Pridemore and her husband Philip of East Liverpool, Joanne Smith and her husband Donald of Canandaigua, N.Y., and Betsy Chaney and her husband James of Toronto; a brother, Charles Denver Brereton, Jr. and his wife Karen of East Liverpool also survive.
There are nine grandchildren; Logan Deems, Michael and Audrey Vunjak, Chase Connor, Carly, Derek, and Owen Klein, and Alex Bielskis.
Friends may call Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
John Smith will conduct services at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery following which friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center.
