TORONTO – Ann C. Candal, 71, died Friday, March 5, 2004, a the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Shadyside Hospital.
She was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Toronto, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Hromi Barlas.
She was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto and had been a secretary for the former Kaul Clay Co.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Candal, at home, a daughter, JoAnn Smith of Delaware, Ohio; two sons, Joseph Michael Candal of Bennington, VT., and John Paul Candal of Weirton; three sisters, Mary Delfiandra of Steubenville, Eleanor Barlas of Washington D.C., and Agnes Ferrelli of Steubenville; and five grandchildren.
Monsignor Kurt Kemo will conduct a Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Toronto Union Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Clarke Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
