Terry Emerson Joy, 70, of New Cumberland passed away Monday, February 10, 2003 at home.
He was born June 12, 1932 in New Cumberland, a son of the late Emmett R. and Garnet Kaylor Joy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Kneufener.
He had been employed with the former Crescent Brick Company and the Joe Bartolovich Contracting Company. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Ohio Gun Collectors. Terry loved to read, hunt and care wood. He was a Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Crummitt Joy, at home; a daughter, Carol Ann Joy, at home; two sons, James Joseph Joy and his wife, Terri Ann of Weirton and Jason Thomas Joy , at home; a brother, Emmett R. Joy of McArthur, Oh; a sister, Justine Chamberlain of New Cumberland and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Joy and Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. Interment followed at the New Cumberland Cemetery. The New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
