William R. “Bill” Hughes
Died Tuesday, April 6, 2004

IRONDALE – William R. “Bill” Hughes, 75, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in the emergency room of East Liverpool City Hospital.
Bill was born May 25, 1928, in Toronto, a son of the late Harry “Muggsy” and Evelyn Davidson Hughes.
Bill was retired from the former Hancock Mfg. Co. in Toronto and was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He was also a member of the Irondale United Methodist Church and attended The River Christian Fellowship Church in Empire. Bill was a member of the Toronto Pigeon Club, where he enjoyed raising and racing homing pigeons.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Carman Hughes in 1998 and his brother, James Patrick Hughes.
Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Wardeska of Irondale; three granddaughters, Mary Beth (Michael Smith of Austin Lake, Toronto, Amy (Rick) Wade of Columbus and JoAnn Wardeska of Irondale; one sister, Shirley (Donald) McFall of Toronto; and two great grandchildren, Sadie Wright and Lili Smith.
Friends and family may call Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St., Toronto. Friends and family may also call Friday at the River Christian Fellowship Church in Empire from 12:30 until the time of services at 1:30 p.m.
Pastor Tim Ginter will officiate, and burial will follow Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Irondale. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.jefosterfh.com.
