STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – William Travis Lee, age 74, of Steubenville died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.
He was born July 112, 1931, in Moulton, Ala., a son of John and Maudie (Bonds) lee, both deceased.
He was a graduate of Steubenville High School; was retied from Wheeling –Pittsburgh Steel, Blast Furnace, with 42 years of service; and was very active at the All American Bowling Lanes. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Johnnie Mae Lee; one daughter, Melody (Charles) Walton of Steubenville; two sisters, Augusta Scott of Steubenville and Catherine Freeman of Steubenville; one brother, John (Ina Mae) Almon of Steubenville; two granddaughters, Charna’ Crawford of Columbus and Tyra Crawford of Steubenville; three great-grandchildren, Andrea’ Crawford, Michala Crawford and Patrick Gilbert all of Steubenville; two best friends, Calvin Edwards and William Sizemore of Steubenville, one sister-in-law, Mary Lee of Steubenville; three nieces, Sheila Lee of Cleveland, Currenona “Curry” (Kevin) Cox of Cleveland an Cartheeta (Thomas) Mitchell of Wintersville; and also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John H. Lee and three sisters, Pearl Law, Mattie Almon and Modean McGee.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 17, form10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Vinson House of Mortuary, 711 N. Fifth Street, Steubenville followed by Funeral Services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Norries hood officiating at the funeral home.
