Joseph N. Mercer, 83, of 848 7th Ave., LaCroft, died Sunday at 10:10 p.m. in Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital. He was injured in a fall last February.
Mr. Mercer was born in New Cumberland June 4, 1893, a son of William Mercer and Nancy Stacey Mercer.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and retired in 1958 as a mine car repairman with Globe Refractories after 38years service. He was a member of the Gendale Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his widow, Mrs. Sylvia Starling Mercer, whom he married Jan. 20, 1915, survivors include two sons, Robert E. Mercer of Newell and F. Richard Mercer of East Liverpool; 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Glen Curtis of the Glendale Church. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and night.
