Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mercer, 63, of Ravine St., East Liverpool, died at East Liverpool City Hospital at 12:10 p.m. Monday following a lingering illness.
She was born at Parkersburg, W.Va., July 18, 1921, a daughter of Mrs. Elsie Carnes Scibilia of East Liverpool and the late George Philabaum.
She resided in this area most of her lifetime, and attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Raymond Wilson Mercer, whom she married in 1938, at home; a son, Charles J. Mercer of East Liverpool; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Elsie) Taylor of New Kensington, Pa., Mrs. Noah (Mary) Nichols of Hinckley, Ohio, and Mrs. Dorothy Marie Skidmore at home; a brother, James William Philabaum of Florida; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services are to be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. James R. Hicks officiating.
Burial is to be in the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Friends may call a the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening and an hour before the time of the service.
