Mrs. Anna May Mercer, 78, of Route 8, Chester Rd 1, died today at 5:35 a.m. in City Hospital following a one-day illness.
She was born June 20, 1897, in Fredericktown, Mrs. Mercer retired in 1963 from the Homer Laughlin China Co. and was an honorary member of the IBPAW. She was a member of the Pleasnat Hills Wesleyan Methodist Church of Hookstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson E. Mercer, Jan. 29, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer L. Mercer and Charles W. Mercer, both of Chester RD 1; a daughter, Mrs. Theresa Reed of Gerogetown; two halfbrothers, Fred Douglas of Newell and Arthur Douglas of Akron; a halfsister, Mrs. Mabel Risner of East Liverpool; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester by the Rev. Paul Treese of the church. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
