EAST LIVERPOOL-- Services will be held Monday for Opal Mae Smith Mercer of Lisbon Street who died Tuesday, May 6, 1999, at City Hospital following a two week illness.
She was born in West Virginia march 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Clyde and Blanche Cameron Smith.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the area. She was a Protestant.
She is survived by her husband, Dale L. Mercer, Sr., whom she married in June 1947; a son, Dale Mercer Jr. of East Liverpool; two daughters, Patty Stearns and Janet L. Bragg of East Liverpool; two brothers, Robert Smith of San Diego, Calif., and Hilton Smith of Kansas; a sister of Kansas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The Rev. Paul Sturm of Rainbow Ministries will conduct the services at noon at the Martin Chapel of the Martin-Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
Friends may call at the funeral home two hours before the service.
