WELLSBURG, W.Va. – Jimmie Winfield Welch, 64, of Wellsburg died Sunday, Nov. 28, at Wheeling Medical Park.
He was bon on June 15, 1940 in Madison, Fla., a son of the late Tebo ad Jennie Ward Welch. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Carroll Welch.
Jimmie was a retired long-wall miner with Windsor Coal Company; an Army veteran and Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his wife of eight years, Hattie Moore Welch at home; two daughters, Kara Bialk and her husband, Joe of Mainville, Ohio and Edie Pizzuti of Steubenville, Ohio’ one son, James Pizzuti Jr. and his wife, Holly of Calcutta, Ohio; one brother, Homer Welch and his wife, Gale of North East, Md.; one sister, betty june Minden and her husband, Don of Las Cruces, N.M.

STEUBENVILLE – Samuel Orbovich, age 74, of 530 N. Sixth street, Steubenville, passed away on Wednesday at 6:10 in his home.
He was the father of Leonard Orbovich, of Tiltonsville; Joseph and Donald Orbovich, of Steubenville; Mrs. Chris Clusac, of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Joseph Burich, of Loraine, Ohio; Michael Orbovich, Key West, Florida.
Friends are being received at the Elliot Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Zelich, of the Serbian Orthodox Church officiating. Interment will be made in the Steubenville Serbian Cemetery.

NEW CUMBERLAND – Joseph Mehalik, 62, route 1, died Saturday ev3ening at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1919, in Orient, Pa., a son of the late John and Anna Billcheck Mehalik.
He was a member of ST. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, co-owner of Jo L Bakery Shop, retired employee of the 54 Inch Electrical Department at Weirton Steel Division, an Army veteran of World War Ii, and a member of the VFW and the 25-year Club.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine Zdinak Mehalik’ three sons, Joseph M., Robert J. and David P., all at home; a daughter, Kathy Jo at home; two brothers, Paul of Baltimore, Md. And George of Steubenville; two sisters, Mrs. George (Edith) Martin of Weirton and Mrs. Charles (Irene) Cooper of Florida.
Friends will be received at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday, where final blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and Divine Liturgy of Requiem at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Msgr. Andrew Pataki as celebrant. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Rosary devotions at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Altar Society and Parastas services at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born May 27, 1908, in Zalea, Hancock County, a son of the late Frank and Etta Hamilton Anderson.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Carol Lynn Anderson, Jan. 26, 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Carol Ann) Lyons of New Cumberland; stepdaughter, Mrs. Frank (Suzy) Densworth of Northville, Mich.; a stepson, Mel S. Lewis of Charlotte, N. C.; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Ruckle McCracken of Essex, Md.; two brothers, William V. of Weirton and Emory of New Cumberland; and four grandchildren.

He was born Dec. 2, 1910, in Monongah, W. Va., a son of the late Nick and ?Rose Jellots.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Billcheck Jellots in September, 1980.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, retired employee of the Steel Works Department, Weirton Steel Division with 39 years service, member of the 25-year Club and the Senior Bowling League.
Surviving are one son, Donald Jellots of Weirton; one daughter, Mrs. John (Esther) Solomon of Weirton’ two brother, Pete of Greenville, Pa. and Andrew of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rosier of Canonsburg, Pa. and Mrs. Helen Robinson of Wheeling; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
