Cora Males, 74, Retired Potter
Mrs. Cora Belle Males, 74, of the Fox Nursing Home in Chester, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1989, at the nursing home following a lingering illness.
She was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Leroy, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ira Wilson and Lula Saunders Wilson.
A longtime resident of Chester, Mrs. Males was a handle finisher 32 years at the Homer Laughlin China Co., before retiring in 1973, and was a member of the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union.
Her first husband, William E. Bennett, died in 1943, and her second husband Jesse E. Males, died in 1966.
Survivors include a son, Jesse E. Males Jr. of Williamsburg, Ky.: five daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Martha) Speece of Chester, Mrs. Nelson (Myrtle) Eldridge and Miss Elsie Sue Males of Sisasiasconset, Mass., Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Rezendes of Nantucket, Mass., and Mrs. Gil (Kimberly) Alcaras of Virginia Beach, Va.: a brother, Roscoe Wilson of Chester; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Cahoon of Chester, Mrs. Elizabeth Turner of North Port, Fla., and Mrs. W ilma Nutter of Encampment, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
Minister Joe Kelley of the Chester First Christian Church is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel Friday afternoon and evening.
