Elmer R. (Russ) Brubaker, 81, of 529 College St., died Today at 2 p.m. at Convalescent Center II following a long illness.
A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Brubaker was born in Altoona, Pa., Feb 3, 1896, a son of Samuel Brubaker and Mary Brubaker.
He had resided here for 40 years where he was retired in 1964 from the Genuine Parts Store. At one time, he worked as a general manager of the former Hayes Motor Co.
Mr. Brubaker was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church and a life member of American Legion Post 4.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Fern R. Brassine Brubaker at home, whom he married Nov. 5, 1949, survivors include two sisters, Miss Bertha Brubaker of Pa., and Mrs. Christina Imler of Duncansville, Pa.; three brothers, Albert and Donald Brubaker, both of Altoona and Paul Brubaker of Duncansville and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from the Dawson Funeral Home here by the Rev. H. Gene Toot. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday and up until the time of the service Saturday.
