Irene Wain

EAST LIVERPOOL – Ada “Irene” Wain, 86, of Lisbon Street, died at 11 am. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at the Robert E. Boyce Pavilion of East Liverpool City Hospital, where hs had been a patient for one week.
Born in East Liverpool Dec. 31, 1916, daughter of the late Herbert H. and Cora Vada Argabriter Pickering, she was a lifelong member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, which merged and now is the Good Shepherd Church. She had been a member of the Altar Society when at Calvary.
A lifelong resident of the area, she was employed at National Church Envelope, as well as the former Edwin M. Knowles Pottery and other area potteries.
She had been a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem of Wellsville.
James Duffy, her first husband, died in 1963. She later married Percy Wain, who died in 1987. Two brothers, Herbert and Kenneth Pickering, also preceded her in death along with a sister, Betty J. Gotschall.
A brother, James “Jim” Pickering of East Liverpool, survives along with several nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Monday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present form 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rev. William Church of Good Shepherd will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
