SALINEVILLE – Clyde “Chip” N. Earich, Jr., 95, of Haiti Road, died Sunday, February 8, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born Nov. 8, 1908, in Salineville, the son of the late Clyde N. and Sarah (Bucheit) Earich Sr. He worked as an engineer for Penn Central Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 1973.
Chip was a member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge 1040, the oldest living member of the Lisbon Eagles, and a social member of the Salineville American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Ann Simpson and her husband Richard of Columbiana, Ohio, Nancy Sprouse and her husband Lawrence Sprouse Jr. of Columbiana; three sons, Gary Earich and his wife Anna of Salineville, Thomas Earich and his wife Carol of Salineville and John Earich and his wife Chanda of Phoenix, Ariz; 31 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
His wife, Teresa, whom he married Feb. 24, 1934, died Dec. 4, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a son, Glenn Earich; a sister; a half brother; and half sister.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dave Maly of the First United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Highlandtown Cemetery.
Friends my call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, where an Elks service is scheduled at 8:00p.m.
