Thelma M. Drum, 93, of Newell passed away Monday, June 29, 2009.
She was born January 19, 1916, a daughter of the late Sherry and Margaret Smith Swift. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Drum; and two brothers, Stanley Swift and Lawrence Swift.
Thelma retired after teaching school for over 30 years in the Hancock County School System. She was a member of the Newell First Church of the Nazarene and the Hancock County Retired Teacher’s Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy DeBee of East Liverpool; two granddaughters, Krista DeBee of East Liverpool and Alissa Butler of California; three great-grandsons, Payton, Hayden and Brice.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Newell First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Everett Clay officiating. Interment followed at the Locust Hill Cemetery.
The Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Hoe was in charge of arrangements.
