Albert R. Shasteen

LISBON – Albert R. Shasteen, 73, of 39117 Brookfield Ave., here died at 10:20 am. Firday at the Salem Community Hospital-East Unit following a two-week illness.
Born in West Township April 5, 1904, he was the son of Charles E. and Elsie Mae (Brown) Shasteen. He lived in Lisbon since 1960 and was a life-long resident of Columbiana County.
A retired millwright of Crucible Steel, Midland, Pa., where he worked for more than 27 years, Mr. Shasteen was a member of the Lisbon React.
Surviving are: his widow, Alvera M. (Anderson) Shasteen of the residence; a step-mother, Mrs. Mildred (Hiner) Shasteen of Salem; six daughters, Mrs. James Pirrung of Townsend, Md., Mrs. Carolyn Canton of Salem, Mrs. Leo Crank of Azusa, Calif., Mrs. Norma Burson of Salem, Mrs. Thomas Dawson of Lisbon, and Miss Donna Jean Shasteen of East Liverpool; two sons, Arthur of Lisbon and Ronald Lee of Leetonia; five sisters, Mrs. Howard Mitchell of East Liverpool, Mrs. Chance Crawford of Darlington, Pa., Mrs. Theodora Custer of Leetonia, Mrs. Richard Van Kirk of Enon Valley, Pa. And Mrs. William Barnett of East Liverpool; three brothers, Charles of West Point, Ormond of East Liverpool, and Harris W. of East Liverpool; two step-brothers, Richard Hiner of Kansas and Chester Hiner of Hanoverton; 15 grandchildrena dn four great-grandchildren.
One son, Albert, his first wife, Loretta (Davidson) Shasteen, and a brother, Ernest, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 1:#0 p.m. Monday at the Maple-Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington with the Rev. Arden R. Beck of the first United Methodist Church presiding.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
