WEST POINT – Services will be held Friday for Charles E. Shasteen, 90, of state Route 518, who died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Kensington Aug. 25, 1909, a son of the late Charles A. and Elsie Brown Shasteen.
A lifelong area resident, he had been employed as an electrician at Crucible Steel for 37 years before retiring in 1973.
His wife, Jeanette K. Havens Shasteen, whom he married Jan. 1, 1933, died Nov. 22. 1992. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandson.
He is survived by four daughters, Shirley Brenneman of Rogers, Dolores Shasteen of East Liverpool, Tawnya R. Shasteen of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Wendie “Casey” Shasteen at home; a son, Farnum C. Shasteen of Negley; a brother, Harris Shasteen of East Liverpool, four sisters, Violet Mitchell and Mary Barrett of East Liverpool, Doris Crawford of Darlington, Pa., and Theodora Custer of Salineville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Charles A. Ready will conduct the services at 1 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
