CHESTER – Mrs. Hazel V. Hannen, 82, of 311 Fairview St. died at 3:35 p.m. Friday at City Hospital following a one-day illness.
A lifetime area resident, she was born July 1, 1903, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Robert Brown and Almeda White Brown.
Mrs. Hannen retired at age 65 as a cook at the former Hancock County Children’s Home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Chester and its Loyal Daughters Class.
Her husband, Carl Hannen, died Sept. 21, 1982. They were married April 20, 1928, in Chester. Mrs. Hannen is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with the Rev. Dennis Arnold of the New Manchester First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel Sunday afternoon and evening, and until the services Monday.
