LISBON – Charles W. Homan, 86, of Stookesberry Road, died at 11:46 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 23,2001, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N. C., following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Gnadenhuten, Ohio, Dec. 1, 1914, a son of the late Otto A. and Nellie Rose Heck Homan.
He owned the Homan Dairy and Homan Refrigeration in Salem and was a member of the Heckewelder Moravian Church in Gnadenhutten. He also attended New Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Lisbon. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene M. Girard Homan; a son, Gary G. Homan of Ellicott City, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. David (Joyce) McPherson of Raleigh, N. C.; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Bruce Nelson will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Heckewelder Moravian Church. The Rev. Donald Spear and Rev. Rick Boyette will conduct memorial services at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Lisbon church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday.
