CALCUTTA – Florence M. Rippeth Merriman, 75, of Milton Avenue, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug., 26, 2001, at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Born in East Liverpool Oct. 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Camuel Clyde Rippeth and Sarah Mae Singhaus Rippeth.
Mrs. Merriman was a resident of this area all her life and worked at the former Woolworth Department Store from 1943 to 1967. she then was employed as a teller at the former First National Bank for 15 years.
Mrs. Merriman was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool where she was a Sunday school teacher, greeter and a member of the choir. She also served as the church treasurer at one time.
Her husband, Frank T. Merriman, preceded her in death on July 12, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Sue) Leslie of Lisbon, and a son, Mark T. Merriman, who resides at home. A brother also survives, John L. Rippeth of Cherry Hill, N. J. Other survivors include three grandsons and one great-grandson.
A brother, Charles Rippeth, also preceded Mrs. Merriman in death.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Larry Hall of he church officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
