MONROE, Mich. – Kevin L. Powers, 40, of Monroe, Mich., died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at home following a brief illness.
He was born in East Liverpool Aug. 7, 1961, a son of Robert L. Powers of Farmdale, Ohio, and the late Jacquelyn L. Butcher Powers.
He was employed by Independent Dairy and Kuhl Brothers Inc., in Monroe and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dundee and First Christian Baptist Church in Newport.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Rice Powers; his step-mother, Deanna L. Powers of Farmdale, two sons, Devin Lee Powers Jr. and Justin William Powers both of Monroe; a daughter, Alichi Marie Powers of Monroe; two step daughters, Crystal Pierce and Amber R. Pierce of Monroe; two brothers Robert L. Powers II of Farmdale and James W. Umensetter of Monroe; twos sisters, Leslie J. Mays of Monroe and Wendy Lee Powers of Farmdale, and a paternal grandmother, Sarah G. Loy of East Liverpool. The Rev. G. Cliff Ervin conducted the services Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
