Alma Jane Tice
Died Nov. 10, 2003

LOUISVILLE – Alma Jane Tice, 95, formerly of Hammondsville, died Monday, Nov. 10,2003, at the home of her daughter, Beatrice, and went home to be with her loving husband, George, who passed away June 25, 1987.
Alma was born in tucker County, W.Va. on Oct. 22, 1908, to the late Richard and Nancy Williams Newman. She was a protestant by faith and had worked as a packer at the former TS&T Pottery in Chester, W.Va.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alma, was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Richard, and Alvin Newt Newman; three sisters, Martha Pontius, George Compston and Virginia Rickey; one grandson, Ronald Tice Jr.; and one great-great granddaughter, Cheyenne Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Beatrice) Tyo of Louisville, Ohio; four sons, Ronald Tice and his wife, Mary, William Tice and his wife, Nancy, both of Hammondsville, Daniel Tice and his wife, Rose, of Wellsville and John Tice of Poquosen, Va.
There are nine grandchildren, Charles Tice and his wife, Julia of Knoxville, Ohio, Kimberly Smith and her husband, Jeff of East Liverpool, Susan Hassan and her husband, Mike of Mingo Junction, Daniel Tice Jr. and Kevan Tice of Las Vegas, Tim Tice of Alliance, Holly Tyo of Louisville, Ohio, John Tice II and Troy Tice of Lubbock, Texas. There are also seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. John Butera of the Peace United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Hammondsville Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
