William P. boring, 65, of Third Ave., New Cumberland, passed away Sunday, May 10, 1998 in Wheeling.
He was born June 12, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa, the son of Lillian Shaffer and the late Thomas J. Boring. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Joey boring and three sisters, Lois Jane, Norma Jean and Shirley Boring.
He was a veteran of he Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Marine Corp. He retired as a filter operator from Quaker State Oil Refinery of Newell. He was a ember of Trinity United Methodist Church of New Cumberland, Weirton Odd Fellows, New Cumberland Lions Club, Mt Pleasant Moose and the Mt. Pleasant V.F.W.
Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Wilma J. (Thayer) Boring of New Cumberland; two sons, Roy I. Boring of New Cumberland and Robert Boring of Wheeling; two daughters, Joyce Barnhart of Leetonia, Ohio and Wilma (Jane) Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, Thomas Jr., Bud Allen and Robert Vernon boring all of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Alverdia Poorbaugh of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Billy Ray Carpenter officiating. Interment followed in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Nixon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
