EAST LIVERPOOL – Georgia A. Malcomb, 72, of the Calcutta Health Care Center, formerly of Alpha Street, East Liverpool, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room.
Born in Ashley, W.Va., Jan. 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Grover P. and Emma E. White Ash. A resident of this area most of her life, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the East Liverpool City Hospital until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the Crystal Lodge Chapter # 18 of the Eastern Star, VFW Post #66 Auxiliary, and a past member of Daughter’s of America.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Diane Russell of East Liverpool, and an son, Michael Paul Malcomb of Las Vegas, Nev. Three step-daughters also survive, Mrs. Ed (Helen) Hitt of Weston, W.Va., Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) Blevins of Glenmoor and Mrs. John (Winona) Mansfield of Delaware, Ohio, along with a stepson, Fred Malcomb and his wife Trish of Kentucky.
Five Grandchildren survive, Joseph P. Russell and his wife Char of LaCroft, Mrs. Eric (Misty) Mays of East Liverpool, Erin Russell and her fiancé Brad Latimer of LaCroft, Michael Malcomb II of Richmond, Va., and Jacob Malcomb of Las Vegas.
A sister, Mildred V. Lamp of Fairmont, W.Va., and a brother, Kermit W. Ash of Antioch, Ohio, survive as well as two great-grandchildren, Hueston Russell and Sydney Latimer.
Two sisters preceded her in death, Erma E. McCoy and Doris Jane Ash.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Maly of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Ash Cemetery in Ashley, W.Va.
