Nelma “Der” “Aunt Nellie” Czech
Died April 26, 2004

EAST LIVERPOOL – Nelma “Der” “Aunt Nellie” Czech, 75, of Glenn Street, Glenmoor, formerly of Seventh Avenue, LaCroft, was called to be with our Savior, The Lord Jesus, at 11:18 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in East Liverpool, Oct. 18, 1928, daughter of the late James A. and Bertha Moore, she attended Madison Trinity Church in West Point.
A lifelong resident of the area, she was a homemaker and was involved with the LaCroft neighborhood Crime Watch Program at one time. A member of the Calcutta Garden Club, she also was a past member of the Tri-Angle Senior Citizens.
She left her family to once again be with her beloved husband, David R. Czech, whom she married Sept. 19, 1947, and who died May 4, 1993. A daughter, Cynthia Czech, died in 1956; and a son, David R. Czech, died in 1948. Two sisters, Wilda Wilson and Juanita “Niege” Smith, also preceded her in death.
A daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Pam) Cunningham; and two grandchildren, Michael and Ryan Cunningham, with whom she resided, survive.
A sister, Mrs. Daniel (Ilda “Oddie”) Edinger of Canton, also survives along with a niece, Mrs. Michael (Juanita “Gip”) Gatrell of Irondale, whom she helped raise.
Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call today at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Pastor Rick Anderson will conduct services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
