HUBBARD, Ohio – Dr. John D. O’Brien, PhD, 59, of Chestnut Ridge Road, died at 3;08 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2001, at Northside Hospital in Youngstown following a brief illness.
He was born in East Liverpool Aug. 2, 1941, a son of Jane Hodgson McHenry of Chester and the late John E. O’Brien.
He had been a professor of anthropology at several colleges.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Kathleen A. O’Brien of Portland, Ore; and two half-brothers, Jeffrey O’Brien of Pannsylvania and Jay O’Brien of Kennebunk Maine.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
