EAST Liverpool -- Frances E. Dawson, 78, of Dresden Avenue, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at City Hospital.
Mrs. Dawson was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Chester. A daughter of the late Otto and Iona Sprout Shroades, she spent her lifetime in this area.
She was employed at the Sterling China Co. at one time and most recently was self-employed as a housekeeper.
She was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester and the East Liverpool Moose Lodge 122.
Her first husband, Leland “Pete” Pollock, died in 1943. Her second Husband, Paul V. Dawson, died in 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Darla) Bash of Calcutta and Mrs. Chuck (Patricia) Allison of East Liverpool; a sister, Lela Adkins of Hesperia, Calif.; two brothers, Albert Shroades of Newell and Dan Shroades of Kissimmee, Fla.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Leland Earl Pollock, in 1943.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral +Home, with Evangelist Frank Higginbotham of the church officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 2 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday
Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends are invited to return to the Dawson Family Center for a luncheon.
