EAST PALESTINE – Robert Etter Sheely, 84, formerly of West Martin Street, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Salem Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He wa sborn in Unity, Ohio, Aug. 27, 1916, a son of the late Elmer M. and Ora Reesh Sheely.
He was an owner and upholsterer for the Hy-Comfort Upholstery Shop in East Palestine and was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris C. Glaser Sheely, and his second wife, Evelyn Mackall Holzer Sheely.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dick (JennyLind) Dailey of East Palestine and Mrs. James (Debbie Jean) Snyder of North Lima; two step-daughters, Mrs. William (Shirley) Wilson and Connie Robinson of East Palestine; two sons, Robert M. Sheely of East Palestine and Jeffrey D. Sheely of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepson, Chuck Holzer of Alliance; a sister, Ruth Knight of Columbiana; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Brian Miller of the church will conduct services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
