Nora “Dee Dee” Cross, 63, of Newell passed away Friday, April 24, 2009.
She was born December 25, 1945 in east Liverpool, a daughter of the late Charles and Nora Philabaum Reeder. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George Reeder; a granddaughter, Tess Miller and a step-son, Mike Cross.
She was a former ware dresser at Homer Laughlin China Company and the owner and operator of Ernie’s Bar and the Crafty Ideas Craft Shop. She attended Grace Baptist Temple and was a member of the Potter’s Club, a social member of the Newell Legion Post 114, Chester Legion Post 121 and Chester VFW.
She is survived by her husband, Ernie Cross Jr., at home; a daughter, Lisa Miller and companion Frank Moore of Chester; a son, Ernie Cross and wife Jolinda of East Liverpool ; a brother, Charlie Reeder of Newell; two grandchildren, Shawn Moore and Seth Cross; a step-grandson, Mike Cross; two great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Carolyn Pruden and Cassy Heaton.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home.
Interment was held privately.
