TORONTO – Harry W. Bartels, 66, of state highway 152, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at University Presbyterian medical Center in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Knox Township, Ohio, De. 21, 1934, a son of the late Frederick William and Eunice E. Hudson Bartels.
He was employed at the Knox Township Ohio Highway Department as road supervisor before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia I. Anderson Bartels; a son, Terry E. Bartels of Toronto; three daughters, Mrs. James (Eunice) Cich, Mrs. Marty (Anne) Wiant and Mrs. Victor (Cheryl) Rawson of Toronto; two stepsons, Charles L. Brown III of Hubbard and Jeffrey L. Brown of Irondale; a stepdaughter, Rachel M. Brown of Youngstown; four brothers, Fred Bartels, Paul Bartels and Ernest Bartels of Toronto and John Bartels of Salem; a sister, Mrs. Herb (Marjorie) Stoneking of Northwest Uniontown, Ohio; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dennis Kelley will conduct the services at 11 a.m. Monday at Clarke Funeral Home. The Toronto American Legion will accord full military honors graveside at Island Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
