Penny L. Poynter
Died Jan. 20, 2004
LISBON – Penny L. Poynter, 46, of Johnson Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital after a two-year illness.
She was born in East Liverpool Feb. 12, 1957, a daughter of Richard S. Sullivan of Lisbon and he late Shiela Wright Sullivan and lived her entire life in this area.
Penny had been employed in the housekeeping department at the Nentwick Convalescent Center in East Liverpool last working in 2002. she attended East Liverpool High School, graduation in 1975, and was a member of the local TOPS group and a Mormon by faith.
In addition to her father, Her husband, Clayton F. Poynter, whom she married in 1980, survives her. Three sons, Terry R. Poynter of Lisbon, Eric Poynter of Austintown and David E. Poynter of Toledo, also survive Penny. A sister, Debbie L. Murphy and her husband Randy and their son, Penny’s nephew, Randy of Lisbon, and a brother, Richard K. Sullivan and his wife Tracy of Lisbon. Two grandchildren, Tyler James Poynter and Kayla Marie Poynter, both of Lisbon. She also is survived by several nephews.
In addition to her mother, Penny was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Wilma J. Wright and her paternal grandparents Arron F. and Corene Sullivan.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, with the Rev. Paul Sturm officiating. Burial will following the Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery in Salineville.
Friends may call and visit with the family a the funeral home in Calcutta from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, and until the time of services on Friday.
