EAST PALESTINE, Oct. 18 (Special)—Mrs. Mary E. Dennis, 76, died Tuesday afternoon at the Henthorne Chronic Hospital in Lisbon, where she was a patient for a week. She made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Charles Meade, 203 South Market St., East Palestine.
A daughter of Mathias and Barbara Dunbar Vollnogie, she was born Sept. 23, 1874, at Bremen, Ind. She was wed 56 years ago today to Gilbert Dennis of East Palestine, who died in 1944.
She was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana.
Survivors include six sons, Howard Dennis and Homer Dennis of Columbiana, John Dennis and Carl Dennis of Los Angeles, Woodrow Denis of Salem, and Raymond Dennis of East Palestine; four daughters, Mrs. C. A. Forney of Salem, Mrs. Howard Rambo of Rogers, Mrs. Lester Beight and Mrs. Meade of East Palestine; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Decker of Lodi’ three brothers, Clayton Vollnogle and William Vollnogle of Columbiana, and Fred Vollnogle of North Lima, and 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. form the Fry Funeral Home, Columbiana, by Rev. W. H. Oelschlager, retired Lutheran minister of East Palestine. Burial will be at the New Waterford Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
