Rogers Mechanic’s Funeral Set Friday
Howard J. Walter, 66, auto mechanic died Tuesday at 1:50 p.m. in his home in rogers, following a long illness.
An adopted son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Walter, he was born Oct 4, 1884, in Columbiana county. He was married in 1906 to the former Verna Moreland.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Rogers and the Sons of veterans.
He leaves his widow, six daughters, mrs. Pearl Stauffer and Mrs. Iris Capehart of East Liverpool, Mrs. Erma Durk of Washington, Mrs. Olive Whitacre and Mrs. Maxine Simplican of Rogers, and Mrs. Arlene Caldwell of Lowellville; three sons, John Walter of Hopewell, Va., Harley Wayne Walter of Lisbon, and Corporal Edson Walter with the Army in Japan, and 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rites will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Warrick Funeral Home, Columbiana, by Rev. Earl Brooks. Burial will be in East Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday afternoon and night at the funeral home.
