Ellyn J. McHenry, 91,formerly of Chester, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at AlterCare of Nobles Pond in Canton following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 14, 1918 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Dailey Widdowfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell McHenry; two sisters, Mary Moore and Louise lodge, and a son-in-law, Bill Erlitz.
Ellyn retired from the Homer Laughlin China Co. in Newell where she held several jobs over the years, but last worked as a mail delivery person. She was a member of the Chester Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was very involved with the Ladies Guild. She was an active member of the Chester Arts Club and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Erlitz of Canton; a grandson, Mark Erlitz and wife Jane and their children Kendra and Griffin; and a granddaughter, Darby Dummermuth and children, Britney and Jacob.
Rev. Father Lino P. Eberfer was the celebrant for a Mass of Christian Burial with liturgy on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10:oo am. At the Sacred Heart Church. Entombment followed at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.

Arner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
