Ronald J. Yorko, 67, of Carolina Avenue, Chester, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born July 20, 1941, in New Cumberland, a son of Alberta Yorko of New Cumberland and the lat Joseph Yorko.
Ronald was a member of the New Cumberland High School Class of 1959. He returned to the Chester area in 1979 after serving 20 years in the U. S. Army during which time he fought in the Vietnam War serving in Cu Chi, Vietnam. He was the Plant Manager at Resco Products Inc, formerly known at the Crescent Brick Co., in New Cumberland
In addition to his mother, he is survived at home, by his wife, Deborah M. Yorko, whom he married June 26, 1965; two daughters, Sandra Crawford and husband Ronald of East Palestine, and Catherine Talbert and husband Christopher of East Liverpool; a son, Ronald A. Yorko and wife Amber of Exmore, VA; two sisters, Francine Moore and husband Ed, and Brenda Koski and husband Jay, all of New Cumberland; a brother, Jerry Yorko and wife Sherry of Toronto; and two grandchildren, Ronald Crawford of East Palestine and Natalie Talbert of East Liverpool.
Prayers were said at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, led by Pastor Timothy W. Martin.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
